Metropark USA Inc. has filed for bankruptcy protection and will close all 69 U.S. locations. Gift Cards are currently being accepted, but the doors will not be open for long. If you own a Metropark Gift Card, use it as soon as possible.
Uncertainty Abound
Unfortunately there is not much information available for gift cardholders. I called my local Metropark and asked when the doors where closing and was not given any time frame; however I was urged to redeem my gift cards as soon as possible.
The metroparkusa.com website is now simply a banner advertising a Going Out Of Business sale and letting consumers know gift cards are still being accepted. There is isn't an option to redeem online.
A few articles mention a Chapter 11 filing, a potential buyer and a sudden change of plans to going out of business. It's not quite clear what will happen to gift cardholder's money after the last door closes. I put in a note to Metropark USA, Inc. but have yet to hear back.
