Earlier this month, a consumer wrote a negative review of the Bass Pro Shops gift card leaving just one star. Rudy wrote:
"I was given the [Bass Pro Shops gift] card by a company that I do business with. I was told that it did not expire. I carried it in my wallet for too long I guess. I checked balance and was told there was no card. I should have used it sooner, but did not realize that I had to. That is misleading."
ScripSmart's rating of the Bass Pro Shops gift card indicates it never expires and has no fees. In fact, it's one the the highest rated gift cards on ScripSmart and has been awarded our gold badge. Clearly there was a miscommunication somewhere.
Fortunately, Greg from Bass Pro Shops has signed up for a ScripSmart Issuer Account. In short, it's a service we offer to merchants with gift cards rated on ScripSmart which makes it easy to stay on top of what happens on ScripSmart. For example, if their Gift Card Score ever changes or a consumer writes a review, we'll send an email giving them a heads up.

Greg receive our email alert and immediately wanted to reach out to Rudy in order clear up the confusion: Bass Pro Shops gift cards never expire. We put the two in contact and Rudy updated his review of the gift card to include:
"They immediately corrected the problem in the most professional way possible. They made sure that I was "Completely Satisfied" I highly recommend their gift card and the company. Thanks Bass Pro Shops! You are indeed THE GREAT AMERICAN OUTDOOR STORE."
Rudy's feedback also led to a small, but important change when checking the balance of gift cards on the Bass Pro website.
Greg wrote:
"I'll check with our Internet team and see if they can put a message in when a balance returns with zero that if you believe the card should have a balance that they should call and speak with someone. This will help us tremendously I believe."
